Northern Collaboration Learning Exchange: Marketing and Communications

Ensuring our users and stakeholders are aware of the myriad of ways in which we support them, and of the extensive range of our Library services is more important than ever. Northern Collaboration invites you to share the work you are doing to market your Libraries and communicate key messages at our next Learning Exchange at Leeds Beckett University on Thursday 23 May 2019.

Aimed at those working in marketing and communication/engagement roles across the Collaboration, the Exchange will provide an opportunity for you to share your experiences and learn from others. We want the day to be as interactive as possible, so whilst we welcome suggestions for traditional presentations we are also looking for people who would like to present and lead discussions or activities on topics such as:

  • Tools, techniques and channels used to communicate with different users, including hard to reach groups
  • Measuring the impact and success of marketing and communication activities
  • The impact of financial constraints on marketing and communications – how do we stay innovative and creative on limited budgets?
  • Working collaboratively on marketing and communication campaigns – challenges and opportunities

We’d also like to include a “Show and Tell” session: you’ll have 5 minutes to talk about something you are working on or have produced (either digital or a physical example) and tell the story of what you’ve learned / how it’s worked (or not!)

If you are interested in contributing please contact Helen Loughran (h.loughran@leedsbeckett.ac.uk) by Friday 26th April indicating whether you are able to facilitate a presentation/discussion session or would like to bring something to the Show and Tell, providing a brief description of the topic/activity/item.  We particularly encourage and welcome contributions from colleagues in the BAME community, who are under-represented in our sector.
