Learning Spaces Learning Exchange

The University of Sunderland Library is hosting an informal Northern Collaboration Learning Exchange on the theme of ‘Learning Spaces’ including a tour, and practical demonstration at FabLab Sunderland*. It’s free to attend and lunch and refreshments will be included.

We would like to invite colleagues to get together and share ideas and experience of the following:

  • Encouraging student led innovative use of library learning spaces - Maker spaces, GameJams/ Hacks/ clubs and societies.
  • Promoting the use of existing library spaces to support innovative teaching and creative activity through academic collaboration
  • Fostering community outreach and engagement in learning spaces
  • Developing staff to go beyond functional support to promoting change by encouraging the use of technology and flexible learning spaces.
  • Delivering wider and more varied activity and use of existing learning spaces as part of a refurbishment, between refurbishments or on a shoestring.
  • Collaborating across the institution in order to take a portfolio approach to learning spaces; manage competition for footfall and maintain the library as a learning destination
