Learning & Development Events

Learning & Development Events:

Learning & Development events provide the opportunity to hear and learn from speakers on a particular theme. Trainers and experts from both within and outside the Northern Collaboration may be sourced. These events offer the opportunity to gain and/or update delegate knowledge on current library related issues.

Booking is now open for our first L&D event 'Negotiation Skills', taking place on Thursday 23rd November, at Leeds Beckett University, between 9:30 and 16:30

This event is open to any member of staff in a Northern Collaboration library. The cost is £50 per delegate.

This will be an engaging and informative training day delivered by Lisa Jeskins, a former librarian.

The aim of the day is to introduce library staff to a range of techniques and theories to improve their negotiating and influencing skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The session will include group discussion work, but we have been promised no role play!

Please note that because places are limited to 20, we may not be able to accept multiple bookings from the same institution.

Please send any enquiries about the event to Sarah Thompson (s.thompson@york.ac.uk).
